A Plantain at last!

I have spent the last two days researching the Plantain t shirt from Deer and Doe (a free download). One lot of cheap fabric (no names) was woven oddly but I used that for my muslin. It was rubbish because of
1) the material
2) my sewing (when will I ever get those neckbands right?
3) the sizing - I didn't add enough to sides so the fit was not loose enough.

However, today I have worked out that it is easier to add a side adjustment than try to create a whole new pattern - which is what worked out well. I even used decorative stitching around the hem and sleeves. I added to the length of the short sleeves as they are not very flattering finishing at the wider part of the arm. I'll try three-quarter length for my next one in a pretty stretch elastine type fabric.

And yes, I do like the pattern and can see that it has a lot of possibilities - even a dress - perhaps knee-length.

I am quite new to manic sewing (for that is what I do). I am only a beginner, for at 60 I have to make up for lost time! And I still need to work out how to put the picture in the right way - but I'm sure you get the picture!
